QPR inside drama: Redknapp vs Taarabt

The former Tottenham boss slammed the 25-year-old after he was once again conspicuously absent from the QPR squad to face Liverpool at Loftus Road on Sunday
Harry Redknapp launched an astonishing attack on QPR misfit Adel Taarabt after his side were beaten 3-2 by Liverpool on Sunday, claiming that the Morocco international is “three stone overweight.”
Taarabt has played just 25 minutes of Premier League football this season and was missing from the squad for the clash with Brendan Rodgers’ side at Loftus Road.
When asked about the mercurial playmaker after the match, Redknapp claimed that the 25-year-old is both overweight and unfit, before slamming his attitude in a reserve match earlier this week.
“He [Taarabt] is not injured. He’s not fit,” he blasted. “He’s not fit to play football unfortunately. He played in a reserve game the other day and I could have run about more than he did. I can’t pick him.”
"I can't keep protecting people who don't want to run about and train, who are about three stone overweight. What am I supposed to keep saying, keep getting your 60, 70 grand a week but don't train?”
"What's the game coming to?”
Redknapp also challenged Taarabt to prove that he deserves a spot in his starting XI by excelling on the training field in the coming weeks.
“I pick people who want to try, who deserve to be at a good football club like QPR, who come in every day and want to work, train and show a good attitude,” he added. “When he starts doing that, if he ever can do it, maybe he’ll get a game.”
Two own goals, from Richard Dunne and Steven Caulker, plus a deflected Philippe Coutinho strike gave Liverpool victory in west London.

The craziest manager rants

Football management is not a job for the weak-willed or faint-hearted.
Stack together a few defeats and all of a sudden journalists are asking difficult questions, your own fans are baying for blood and former footballers are making negative comments about your character.
So it's no wonder that even the most experienced have snapped from time to time, and even the most level-headed have lost their temper. The latest to be afflicted was OFI Crete's boss Rino Gattuso who launched an astonishing attack against the press a few days ago.
Below, Goal looks at 10 of the most memorable moments when coaches have let their calm demeanour disappear and gone on an unexpected rant for all the world to see or hear about.
( including the infamous ''que la sigan chupando'', obviously ... )
Which rant is your favourite? I think I'm gonna have to go with Trapattoni's one on this, haha. Any good one missing from the list?

Euro 2012 was plunged into its first racism controversy after the black players in the Holland squad were subjected to monkey chants during an open practice session in the same city where England will also invite the public to watch them train on Friday.
Several hundred people targeted players such as Nigel de Jong and Gregory van der Wiel when 25,000 spectators attended the Dutch practice session at the Stadion Miejski, the home of Wisla Krakow.
The players, on the instructions of the captain, Mark van Bommel, responded by moving their training drills to the other side of the ground. "It is a real disgrace especially after getting back from Auschwitz [the Dutch squad had visited the concentration camp on Wednesday] that you are confronted with this," Van Bommel said. "We will take it up with Uefa and if it happens at a match we will talk to the referee and ask him to take us off the field."

Esperanza Aguirre, president of the Comunidad de Madrid, has stated that the Copa Del Rey final which is to be played this Friday should be suspended and then played elsewhere under closed doors in order to avoid national and separatist protests from Basque and Catalan supporters alike.

Borislow nightmare continues

These are long but I tried to bold wisely. Chilling first-hand experience of Ella Masar at MagicJack and an article that gives background to the whole situation... and Abby Wambach's sorry part in all this. :|
Yesterday I tweeted this: Hard news to hear today about WPS. If we only knew last off-season what we knew today. Pride is a dangerous weapon
And then someone responded with this.
@emasar3 Yes, you should have said something while it was going on with Dan the man, you turned your back on your team mates. Pride? Are you feeling guilty you did not back your teammates that were being badly treated? By your paymaster? #money
I immediately became infuriated. How dare someone say that to me after my time spent there. Yet, after I calmed down, I realized I never really told my side of the story.
No more silence.
Now that my nose surgery is paid off and Dan has no grip on my career, I feel it is time for me to really speak and explain what just happened down in Florida with me.
You are going to have to bear with me, it can get confusing with the timeline, and I will try my best…
I remember it like it was yesterday.
It was mid July and we were all (MagicJack) sitting in our locker room. Dan had called a meeting to give us our options with the grievance being filed earlier in the week.
Of course, he did not show up. He just relayed his “dirty work” to some of the girls on the team and gave us two options:
1) Disagree with the grievance and tell the league that we stand by him.
Or
2) Agree with the grievance and he will pull the plug on our team and the season is over.
Side note:
At this point in time Dan was pointing a lot of fingers to different girls on the team to see who exactly started the grievance. Fortunately, for us, he had pissed off ONE too many girls and could not single anyone out. He sent one too many emails or said to the girls one too many times, call me “Daddy.” I wish I were kidding.
( so much rage in my tiny body )
Source. God. What we'd already heard about Borislow made me very afraid that this is what he would be like if given any power over people, but it's so upsetting to see just how bad it was.
“You crossed the line first,” Alfred tells Batman as the Caped Crusader struggles to comprehend the Joker’s motivation and madness in "The Dark Knight".
“You squeezed them. You hammered them to the point of desperation. And in their desperation, they turned to a man they didn’t fully understand.”
Like the Gotham City mob, Women’s Professional Soccer investors – in their desperation – turned to an enigmatic megalomaniac they didn’t understand. And like the mob, the league has lost control of the beast it unleashed.
The Joker killed cops. Dan Borislow has killed a league.
( sigh )
Source. ABBY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY. As if this whole thing wasn't devastating enough, her siding with this asswad is just the shit icing on a cake of shit. Heartbreak everywhere. Hope she comes out and says something that... yeah idek. ;___;
And just in case you haven't had enough of this yet, this and this are two more of the best articles I've seen on the subject.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association for comments about referee Howard Webb. [AGAIN]
The comments in question were made in the build-up to the 2-1 Premier League win over Chelsea on 8 May.
Even though Ferguson spoke positively about Webb, he broke FA rules which state that no manager should speak about a referee prior to a match.
The Old Trafford club's manager has until 1600 BST on 16 May to respond.
Ferguson's side won the match last Sunday against Chelsea 2-1 to move within a point of securing a record 19th title with two games to spare.
But, two days before a game which could have resulted in Chelsea overtaking them at the top-flight summit had the Blues won, Ferguson spoke about Webb at his news conference.
"We are getting the best referee, there is no doubt about that," he said at the time.
"But (getting a bad decision) is definitely our big fear.
"We have the players to do it all right. We just hope it's our turn for a little bit of luck."
Ferguson only recently returned to the dug-out aftyer a five-game ban and £30,000 fine for his criticism's of referee Martin Atkinson following a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea in March.

Srsly, the FA are a joke ... Fergie gets charged if he so much as mentions the word referee nowadays, but if he didn´t talk to the press then the FA would be on him for that too ... he can´t win

The interview runs 8 pages long and in it Fabregas was printed saying a few controversial things.
"It was beautiful when we were in 4 competitions and you think how wonderful this is but then of course we failed and so Arsenal has to take a decision " are they here to win or to develop players"
"I don't feel like I have an obligation to stay at Arsenal," he continued. "It's not like it's now or never for me to leave the club. There's still plenty of time. It's all about patience and waiting until the right moment arrives.
"The young players are now looking toward me, but people shouldn't forget that I'm only 23."

Blatter is seeking a fourth term as FIFA president and is being challenged by Asian confederation chief Mohamed Bin Hammam.
The 75-year-old told UEFA's Congress in Paris on Tuesday that if he wins he will definitely stand down in 2015, saying: "You know very well that I am a candidate for the next four years as FIFA president but these will be the last four years for which I stand as a candidate."
He added: "Together we have the task of bringing together the adventure we have started.
"We want to ensure a better future for our youth."
The new president will be elected at a Fifa Congress which starts on 31 May.
With Bin Hammam vowing to increase Fifa's decision-making power and spread its considerable wealth, Blatter is facing his first challenge since Issa Hayatou took him on - and lost - in 2002.
Bin Hammam is also currently attending the Congress for European football's governing body, Uefa, as they lobby federation presidents for their vote on 1 June in Zurich.
Uefa members make up more than one quarter of the maximum 208 Fifa voters that Blatter and Bin Hammam will attempt to woo.
The winner needs a two-thirds majority of valid votes cast in the first ballot, or a majority in the second.
Fifa has set an 1 April deadline for other candidates to be nominated by a single member federation.
"We are in extra time," said Blatter, referring to the time left before the election. "Let's wait and see what the outcome will be."
