Edit: Okay, about whether the interview is legit. First I'd like to say if it were just random quote I came across online, I wouldn't have bothered to post it, let alone to translate it, for its dubious credibility. Now, I can't say every line in this interview is exactly how it's originally said (the "original" is a translation itself, after all) or that the reporter didn't change or twist something when he was happily transcribing. But the magazine is a pretty serious one. It's a member of the European Sports Magazines and partners to Frace Football, Don Balon etc...I know I know, it doesn't mean they don't write bullshit at all, and I have to say it can be biased or ill-informed in its commentaries as every other sports paper/mag. But as far as interviews go they're quite decent. They have reporters working in Europe to conduct the interviews personally. That's why I believe they at least didn't make the whole interview up. I'll just add the pics that come with it (sorry for the crappy quality, that's what happens when you don't have a scanner) - I'm willing to believe they're taken at this particular interview, but if someone know otherwise please tell me. Then I can delete this whole post because god knows I'd be GLAD if Busquets and Pedro didn't say this whole bunch of rubbish after all.

And for those who doubt if European players do interviews with Asian media - yes they do. I know a Japanese mag ran a column to which a few RM players took turn to contribute - probably written by their PR people, but still a Japanese fan said they were fun to read, as there were usually some anecdotes that weren't seen elsewhere, and it read like the players were talking a little more freely than they do to the local press.

Edit II: In response to some of the comments - just because it's a "random Chinese magazine" doesn't automatically makes it a big fat unscrupulous liar. And I repeat: yes European players do give interviews to the Asian press. But no, there's no proof in the form of audio or video or whatever of whether the interview is legit or not. The most I can tell you about this magazine is as I've said above. It's up to you to decide.

***

I'm so getting over the clasicos already, but then there's this interview in a newly released issue of a football magazine, which is...well, let's just say it's a terrific read when you're really bored, coz it makes you laugh, yell, swear, face palm, tear at your hair, have an urge to throw something out of the window and stab at your pillow all at the same time.

In this exclusive interview with Football Weekly, two lovely souls that are senor Sergio Busquets and senor Pedro Rodriguez have something very insightful to say on the criticisms against them after the clasicos, Real Madrid and their NT teammates...

*Original in Chinese, translated by moi
**This is not the full translation of the interview, as 1) I'm to lazy to do so and 2) there're things that are irrelevant to the clasico topic. But to each question the answers are translated fully. So nothing is taken out of context.

I mean, seriously? )

Sepp Blatter will make way for a successor as FIFA president in four years' time if he is re-elected in June, he has announced.

Blatter is seeking a fourth term as FIFA president and is being challenged by Asian confederation chief Mohamed Bin Hammam.

The 75-year-old told UEFA's Congress in Paris on Tuesday that if he wins he will definitely stand down in 2015, saying: "You know very well that I am a candidate for the next four years as FIFA president but these will be the last four years for which I stand as a candidate."
He added: "Together we have the task of bringing together the adventure we have started.
"We want to ensure a better future for our youth."

The new president will be elected at a Fifa Congress which starts on 31 May.

With Bin Hammam vowing to increase Fifa's decision-making power and spread its considerable wealth, Blatter is facing his first challenge since Issa Hayatou took him on - and lost - in 2002.

Bin Hammam is also currently attending the Congress for European football's governing body, Uefa, as they lobby federation presidents for their vote on 1 June in Zurich.
Uefa members make up more than one quarter of the maximum 208 Fifa voters that Blatter and Bin Hammam will attempt to woo.
The winner needs a two-thirds majority of valid votes cast in the first ballot, or a majority in the second.

Fifa has set an 1 April deadline for other candidates to be nominated by a single member federation.
"We are in extra time," said Blatter, referring to the time left before the election. "Let's wait and see what the outcome will be."

• Manager 'not discussing any of my players' personal lives'
• United play Rooney's old club, Everton, tomorrow

Wayne Rooney

Sir Alex Ferguson has refused to discuss Wayne Rooney's off-field problems.

The Manchester United and England striker has been at the centre of newspaper allegations about his private life. United are away to Rooney's former club, Everton, tomorrow. There has been speculation over whether the 24-year-old will play. The Everton and England defender Phil Jagielka said that Rooney could expect a hostile reception at Goodison Park.

Ferguson said: "Let's put it to bed straight away. I am not discussing any of my players' personal lives."

The Brazilian midfielder Anderson is unlikely to play tomorrow after picking up an injury while playing for the reserves last night.

"Anderson came off with a little niggle yesterday but it is nothing serious," said Ferguson. "It is just the fact he has been out for a long time and he is just coming back. I don't think it will knock him back any length of time."

England striker Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen have asked the media to respect their privacy amid allegations about his private life.

"The last six days have been extremely painful for us and for our families," the couple said in a statement.

They added that it was impossible for them "to attempt to resolve any issues in the current media glare".

The Rooneys' statement, released six days after the first allegations were published by the News of the World, added that they were facing a "backdrop of so many inaccurate and intrusive stories".

Gerrard admits Rooney is THE BEST.

Steven Gerrard has hailed Wayne Rooney as "currently the best player in the world" and believes it is vital he retains form and fitness if England are to win the World Cup this summer.

Rooney scored his 28th goal of the season in helping Manchester United come from behind to defeat Aston Villa in Sunday's Carling Cup final at Wembley.

And he is set to lead England's attack in tomorrow evening's friendly with African Nations Cup winners Egypt at the same venue, the final game before Fabio Capello announces his provisional squad for South Africa.

Gerrard has known all about Rooney's ability from his days as a teenage sensation at Everton.

And he knows the nation's hopes of winning football's greatest prize will depend to a large extent on his ability to perform at the highest level.

Gerrard said: "For England United, I hope Wayne can sustain the way he is playing until mid-July  May.

"His form this season has been special and I agree with Sir Alex Ferguson in that he is now in that bracket of world class and is up there with the top players in the world.

"From England's United's point of view, if Wayne can continue that kind of form until the summer he is going to be a key player for us.

"There are a lot of good amazing players in the England United squad but, the form Wayne is in, it is vital that we can keep him fit.

"Everyone will have their fingers crossed he can avoid injury and he is fit and in this form going into the World Cup.

"At the moment, on current form, Wayne is the best player in the world, in my opinion."

Coleen Rooney to play no part in repeat of World Cup Wag circus

• My wife's staying at home with the baby, says Wayne Rooney
• 'Wags staying in team hotel was a problem in the past'

Wayne Rooney has revealed that his wife, Coleen, will not be accompanying him to the World Cup in South Africa after partially endorsing the view of the England manager, Fabio Capello, and the captain, Rio Ferdinand, that wives and girlfriends have been a distraction in the past.

"If they want to come and support us there's nothing stopping them," he said. "Last time we were all together in the hotel and that was a bit of a problem. My wife's just had a baby so she's not going anyway."

Last week Capello bristled when asked about the details of the Wags' accommodation in South Africa. "It is far enough when they stay out of the training ground, you understand?" he said. He had earlier announced that those wishing to travel would have to settle for weekly visits with the squad. "We're going to South Africa to play, not for a holiday," he added. "If they don't want to come for the day only, they should stay home."

Asked if he thought the Wags had disrupted England's preparations at the World Cup in Germany, the England manager was scathing about their presence in the team hotel. "I think it will be [like a] virus, no?" he said. "I think so. I hope so. The same virus of the last World Cup."

Coleen Rooney proved yet again that's she's well and truly the queen of the WAGs last night when she turned up at the Cricket Fashion Show party in Liverpool. Dressed in a floaty and flattering pastel frock, Coleen led a collection of WAGs out for the night, including Alex Curran, Claudine Keane and Amanda Carrington. Coleen has been training to get back in shape since giving birth to her and Wayne's son Kai, and last night a gust of wind flattened her dress to her body clearly showing off a trim flat tummy and narrow waist. The reality star has admitted before that her short height sometimes makes her appear chunkier than she is in photos, but we think she looks great here. She really puts the tackier WAGs in their place, doesn't she? (I dont think they mean Alex cos she's left them days behind her)

And of course one of the special booms was Berbatov's new hair.
We should mention that Owen Hargreaves has shaved!!!
And sure Coleen was stunning as she gave the birth to Kai recently.

Ooh Ooh, and one last thing I promise... From Popbitch:

"Last week I was involved in shooting a new football commercial in London for a well-known snack brand. The ad was to star several big football stars, including Fernando Torres, but getting the injured star to make the journey south proved difficult. A helicopter was put on standby to pick him up and take him right back, but
Torres' people demurred. The brand's ad agency even offered up the services of a 'well-known-comedian and entertainer' to keep the striker amused on the flight, but again the offer was rejected. Next the agency
tried to reschedule the shoot for Liverpool - and even put 150 grand's worth of crew on standby, only for Torres' people, rather sensibly, to say that the star couldn't do the shoot until his injury had cleared up."

Nando must be gutted - no adverts till he's not injured? Poor bbs heart must be breaking!!

Coleen Rooney 'gives birth'
Official annoucement expected later today after pals say Wayne is a new dad

By Matt Acton, 18/10/2009

COLEEN Rooney has gone to hospital - where she is said to have made husband Wayne a proud dad by giving birth, the News of the World can reveal.
A heavily-pregnant Coleen was taken to Liverpool's Women's Hospital earlier today - and pals are claiming The Rooney's became proud parents soon after 1pm.

There has been no official confirmation of the birth, but an annoucement his expected later today. Friends of the couple are already celebrating.

Last week the News of the World told how Coleen had snubbed a £1 MILLION deal with a glossy mag for pictures of her and Wayne's baby.

The WAG made the decision because she wants their child to be kept OUT of the spotlight completely.

She was determined to have her first baby naturally and chose Liverpool Women's Hospital - an NHS Trust six miles from where they grew up in Croxteth - for the birth.

The baby was due on October 24, Rooney's 24th birthday, the couple had revealed Coleen was expecting their first child in April.

Coleen Rooney has kept her baby bump modestly under wraps back home in England.

But on a beach in Barbados, the 23-year-old was happy to finally give the world a peek of her growing belly as she slipped on a turquoise string bikini.

Coleen is five months gone now and will celebrate her anniversary with footballer husband Wayne while they're in the Caribbean.

The lovebirds married a year ago in a lavish ceremony on the Italian Riveria.

And to celebrate their first year together as Mr and Mrs Rooney, the pair have jetted off for some quality time in the Caribbean sun.

They set off from Manchester Airport for a holiday in Barbados, where they own a £5million house overlooking Mullins Beach on the west of the island.
