Here I am making a stellar return to ONTD-FB with a post about.... a blaugrana?? Say what??

Anyway, I tried to look for a mention of this in the past news round-ups but I didn't see anything. (Sorry if I missed it in the comments, though.) But I don't blame you guys for missing out on this... because apparently a lot of the media didn't pick up on it either. Except maybe the Catalan media outlets.

As you are all well aware, Puyi has resigned from his post as Assistant Sports Director. (Sport offers an explanation as to why this happened.) And as the title to this post suggests, Puyi paid a little visit to Italy very recently together with former teammate, Iván de la Peña. He visited AC Milan which is not surprising since he's never really hid his love for them. (And what self-respecting modern defender doesn't look up to Paolo Maldini?) But wait. What's he doing visiting the rival club, Inter Milan? And Juve, too? What is the meaning of all this??

Is the former Barcelona captain looking for a new job in Serie A? Maybe try to get his coaching badges? (Why just a few months ago, he rejected an offer from Inter manager Roberto Mancini to be his assistant.) Or am I reading too much into this and this is just Puyi being a huge Serie A fan?

But here's another angle to explore: could we see him working with the RFEF soon? According to the article (which is in Spanish), he was apparently offered the position of sporting director, the same position Fernando Hierro held for four years. (The article also suggests that Puyi visited Italy to see a doctor that could possibly work on his nagging knee injury.)

I'm not even a Barca fan but I personally find this all very intriguing and I'm surprised the English-language news sites seem to not have picked up on this yet.

So RTVE are currently keeping us updated with the NT's movements in preparation for the celebrations later this evening which in general is:

"The agenda of the day for the Spanish team. At 15:00CEST they will arrive at Barajas Airport, at 17:00CEST they will be received by King Juan Carlos at the Zarzuela Palace . Later, from 18:00CEST, in an open-top bus, the players will make their particular parade the streets of Madrid, until 20:30CEST to arrive at the Plaza de Cibeles ."

So I declare this the party/celebration post and while we wait for the celebrations to begin, feel free to post pics/celebration pics etc

Also, what do you think Pepe's player introductions will be this year? Can he improve on Euro '08 and WC '10?

Sepp Blatter will make way for a successor as FIFA president in four years' time if he is re-elected in June, he has announced.

Blatter is seeking a fourth term as FIFA president and is being challenged by Asian confederation chief Mohamed Bin Hammam.

The 75-year-old told UEFA's Congress in Paris on Tuesday that if he wins he will definitely stand down in 2015, saying: "You know very well that I am a candidate for the next four years as FIFA president but these will be the last four years for which I stand as a candidate."
He added: "Together we have the task of bringing together the adventure we have started.
"We want to ensure a better future for our youth."

The new president will be elected at a Fifa Congress which starts on 31 May.

With Bin Hammam vowing to increase Fifa's decision-making power and spread its considerable wealth, Blatter is facing his first challenge since Issa Hayatou took him on - and lost - in 2002.

Bin Hammam is also currently attending the Congress for European football's governing body, Uefa, as they lobby federation presidents for their vote on 1 June in Zurich.
Uefa members make up more than one quarter of the maximum 208 Fifa voters that Blatter and Bin Hammam will attempt to woo.
The winner needs a two-thirds majority of valid votes cast in the first ballot, or a majority in the second.

Fifa has set an 1 April deadline for other candidates to be nominated by a single member federation.
"We are in extra time," said Blatter, referring to the time left before the election. "Let's wait and see what the outcome will be."

I've found two videos from Crackovia posted on TV3's YouTube account two days ago. I have absolutely no knowledge of Catalan though, so I don't have any translations, sorry. If I'm not mistaken, they're both from the El Clasico match a couple of days ago. Enjoy!

Here's my little adventure from Spain's match against Scotland last night. Be warned, it's a lot of excited rambling. And yes, Sergio fangirling. I'm only human!

Te quiero Espana )

So my camera went a little crazy too, and the photos didn't come out well at all. It didn't want to zoom. Or be in focus. But here are some of the better or at least not bad ones.

Fotos!  )

This is my first time posting something so I hope it's all ok!
