FA Cup
Colchester United 1- 4 Tottenham Hotspur

The game started off with a bang - of two defenders' heads clashing together. One had to be taken to hospital, and the other one played on gamely for fifteen minutes but had to be taken off

George Moncure (left in vertical blue and white stripes) is supposedly being watched by PL sides. I can see why, he has tidy feet, keeps his head up and can find space on a postage stamp!

Overall, despite the scoreline, Spurs could have played better. Lamela was trying hard, but nothing came off for him

Nacer Chadli has gone on record to say that he's ready to take responsibility and get goals to his name.

I can see why Pochettino wanted Wimmer. He's solid, does the basics right, and takes instruction well. He won't be bombing forward for a goal, or up to foolishness in the box ala John Stones. Does his job and does it well. He's like a good bread and butter

Aston Villa 0- 4 Manchester City

An image to sum up the game, I guess

Poor Villa

Arsenal 2- 1 Burnley

Arsenal's new signing got a run out. Elneny has promise, I've read

Giroud speaking with his new teammate. I'm going to assume that this is another French bloke

LOL, I just like this picture

Sanchez came back from Christmas break

Portsmouth 1- 2 Bournemouth

Portsmouth started off brightly. Goal in the first minutes of the game.

And then proceeded to block shots from Bournemouth

The cherries came back and boom! 2- 1!

Nottingham Forest 0- 1 Watford

I watched the game. Forest were really good defensively, and a tight unit. Considering their form in the first part of their Championship (division 2) season, it was nice to see them so disciplined

Up to eighty minutes, the score was 0-0, and I was like, "OMG we might get through?!"

Then this *!@£@%$!!!! came on and it was all over

Crystal Palace 1- 0 Stoke

Zaha got the sole goal 17 minutes in, and then proceeded to troll the hell out of Stoke

Still can't believe Shaqiri is playing at Stoke

Well, Pardew will be happy. If anyone knows the magic of winning an FA cup it will be him. *sings* Glad all over

Liverpool 0- 0 West Ham

Jurgen Klopp in his first three months as manager has done more than what Brendan Rodgers did in his three years. In three months Klopp has done the following: gotten LFC booked for a cup final, tapping academy talents for the first team, and essentially keeping up in FOUR competitions and it's after the Christmas break. Klopp is so far, handling his EPL experience with good humour and relative grace

Last night, Joe Allen captained the side. Considering that he was held at bay when Klopp first started, this shows progress

West Ham fielded a strong side to Klopp's academy talents. Considering the last two times LFC have met West Ham this season, we've been soundly beaten, so this seemed a gamble

Texiera (not pictured) and Stewart (above) were standouts. Controlled the defence, looked lively

Benteke.... well. Like a tweet said, "Benteke can't even finish a sandwich". It's more than just scoring goals, it's the fact that he doesn't hold up the ball, do link up plays, pass, or read the game, and seems to have concrete filled shoes on top of everything. You look at Suarez who did all that... and wonder what the hell Brendan Rodgers was thinking buying Benteke when Benteke doesn't suit the way how LFC plays. Oh well! Klopp will be tapping the academy for players to be sure

Other leagues
La Liga
Barcelona 2- 1 Atletico Madrid

Suarez and Messi hug it out

This game was a hot mess. Atletico Madrid are great to watch when they are on the right side of intensity and temper. Once they cross the line, they implode. The latter happened yesterday

Bundesliga
Bayer Leverkusen 3- 0 Hanover 96

Chicha scored two of those goals. He has sixteen goals to his game so far. The best revenge is living well, eh?

Borussia Dortmund 2- 0 Ingolstadt

I wonder why Auba doesn't invest in Invasline. Those teeth are only going to get worse as one gets older

Since when does TinTin tweet in English

I'll always wonder, if you don't like my flowers

Christian Pulisic made his first team debut at 17 years old

OP: done! Cheers, jeers, corrections and commentary pushback, you know the drill! Watching the Djokyvick (?) Murray final in Australia. Can someone please do the tags for me? Thanks!

Victor Valdes made his debut for Standard yesterday evening. He did really well. The club has never seen a player with so many trophies up close, I think. They also filmed his arrival at the stadium, not quite Camp Nou.

I'm never going to stop being outraged at how United treated Victor. He's a wonderful, valiant goalkeeper. It's appalling.

Not going to dwell too much on the game. We showed tremendous grit and determination after going down to 9 men so I'm not disappointed by the final result. Worst part of the game was Augusto's injury. It looks like he's going to be out for a couple of months. :( Kranevitter will have a chance to establish himself, though.

I'm pretty sure this is the football equivalent to sex. I love Yannick. I think he's probably my favourite signing.

this match, lol. I follow a Polish sport journalist that lives now in Barcelona and he apparently sat close to RM 'fans' that ~~came to support Atletico Bilbao because Barca needs to drop points~~ 😆

Iwobi, one of the babies got a run out against Burnley. He's Jay-Jay Okocha's nephew! It's shame he's chosen to play for Nigeria because he's been putting the Ox to shame.

I didn't take you as being from the Midlands :p A former housemate is a diehard Forest fan, so I've a bit of a soft spot for them, too, haha. (And for Man City for the same reason, lol.)
