so I've decided to buckle down and study for the mcats (entrance exam for US med schools) on Apr 19th. That's exactly 99 days from now, and I've been out of school for a few years now so I need to relearn everything lol. TT___TT so I probably won't be watching much football since I need to focus on studying. I guess I'll continue to check FT scores fervently though.
but seriously the org that makes the test is absolutely evil. It's over 7 hours long. They released a 128 page document describing the content on the test. Not actual study material -- just the topics that are covered BLARGH
The longest exam I have ever taken was the California bar exam back in July 2010. An 18 hour exam spread out over three consecutive days. I recall having to schedule my exam preparations around the World Cup games!
7 HOURS?! Jeez, I took the GRE a couple of years ago and I was very sore about it being 4 1/2 hours long.
So how long will it take for you to become a licensed doctor if you go to med school now? Since you've finished your undergrad, do you get to skip stuff?
ugh, best of luck! I have a couple of friends/relatives of friends who've been through them in the last few years and I still can't get over that it's a 7 hour test. D:
I haven't taken any of the 'big' tests in almost 15 years. I'm not looking forward to having to start going through major testing again (and yet, I've been considering taking the US patent bar exam after I graduate).
Storm warning. I'm feeling a bit disquieted somehow, even though it's probably not going to be this bad here. Police has blocked the area about Cologne Cathedral, because bits usually fall off in this kind of weather. I just hope they've secured the covering over the one fountain - some years past, it was ripped off in a storm, flew to the side, punched through the side window of the Roman-Germanic museum, fell down several meters, and damaged an antique mosaic floor. Only in Cologne, the city that lost its historical archives when they fell down a subway construction site.
Am I the only one who's living in a place where it's not raining/snowing? It's pouring in my sister's city which is like, 200 miles from here and yesterday was unbearably hot. Like unusual-for-January hot.
Also, I have nothing to do. Nothing. Except just sit around and wait for replies from grad schools about getting in. Today, I actually sat and read Lolita in one go. Four hours of non-stop reading. And then I re-read another book after that.
It's windy over here. With a bit of wet on the wind, but it's quite gusty. My mailslot keeps tapping against the metal lip and I keep thinking that someone is at the door. Most vexing.
I have a Spanish assignment to do, and I'm doing everything but (watch interviews in Spanish, talking in Spanish on skype but... that's it). I need to tape myself reading in Spanish and then get feedback and bleh. We will see.
90/100mph in Glasgow and everything just stops functioning...apart from the buses, of course.
Worst part about the wind is that my partner now thinks he was right to nail down the welcome mat. WHO NAILS DOWN THEIR WELCOME MAT? And he didn't even make sure it was straight so every time I go to fix it I remember I can't. smh. Our neighbour's mat was in the middle of our garden and he just walked past it like a smug bastard. xD
My 2015 so far has consisted of me basically being sick for the past week :( I haven't even been out my front door since last Friday!! On top of this, so I've been sorting of going on a couple of dates with a guy and although we get on well and he occasionally blows hot and cold, I'm not actually sure if I am really interested or if that whole 'you're getting older, you need to think about settling' idea is taking over my mind. UGH. I think I am overthinking, but I've been ill and off work, plus not much football, so my mind's been allowed to just think and think.
I am SO happy 2015 is proving as fun and easy as 2014. Can you hear the sarcasm?! Anyway... I hope everyone else's first week of the year has been better!
2015, as my comment mentioned, has been a year of nothingness so far. Some sadness (at Arsenal losing) and joy (at Chelsea being destroyed by Tottenham, of all teams) but that's it. I'll be attending a literary festival next week though so I'm excited about that.
I'm still toiling away at my German studies, it's quite scary how much I had forgotten. I'm sure I will get there eventually but it's hard. Ugh, why didn't I keep it up after 6th form :-(
This week has been stressful home-wise, so I need some distraction. It has been an odd week really
It seems that this year is going to be a very big one for me. I didn't get the co-op that I was hoping to get, which is a pity because I would have loved to put $10k in my retirement account, but on the other hand because I didn't get it, I'll be able to go to Berlin for most of May and possibly part of June.
And I'm buying a house! I haven't got everything settled yet, but we looked at a few on Wednesday, with a couple of 'maybe's that would need some work (one of them needs an entire kitchen), and I'm going tomorrow to look at five or six more.
Today I did the last of my exams of my master program after 7 years of Uni. Now there is only the master after master to get through. But still it's the end of my life as a real student which is a bit bizarre because I spend 21 of my 24 years since I've been born, in school.
Starting from Monday I have a month long internship in a hospital far away so I have to stay in the hospital during the week. I really hope that I have internet.
Spent twenty five minutes waiting in the rain for an estate agent who apparently had cancelled by email (despite saying the viewing was on less than 24 hours before). Had to walk twenty minutes each way through an industrial estate to get to the house in the first place - so we're not going to get it anyway.
Today's plans: do taxes.
On the plus side, at least the Saints game tomorrow is after I finish work, so we're going to a pub to watch it. I've only got four shifts left at work, which is terrifying.

Kisses.
Ramos is all ^_^ and Torres is more ._.
I hope Torres has some sort of resurgence and am interested in why Simeone pushed for him for a good six months.
