This is a parody/comedy sketch, of course, but I thought it was really funny. (Like, I actually laughed so hard that my eyes were watery by the end.)

A few more details about the video's creation can be found here.

Also, an interview with "Scott Sterling" with details about how they actually made the video:

And so this post isn't just this video, feel free to spam your favorite goalkeeper saves or just bizarre goalkeeper-related things. Also, all Ochoa WC memes are welcome!  I will grudgingly accept Neuer ones if you mention other goalkeepers too.  NHF a comment section with 100% Manu.  We have all seen how his sweeper-keeper self has somewhat backfired in the wider goalkeeper community.  XD  Almost a plague!  I also dedicate this post to my brother, who was a goalie when he was younger and had a parent from an opposing team encourage his son to kick him after he already was on top of the ball.  Rules, what are those?

"Now that's a lot of miles per hour!" I love this video.

Some of the best stuff from the WC.

Obligatory King mention XD

Enyeama during the WC.

Image

I'm just including this because it's cute.

Image

One Tim Howard meme (he used up all of his saves for this year in the WC).

Image

And finally, it's terrible to laugh at other people's misfortunes, but Robben's face is utterly priceless here.

Edit: I forgot this:

I really enjoyed all the Tim Howard memes that cropped up this summer. I can't find my fave 'picture of Tim Howard & the US Men's National Team' now though, like it didn't even exist! My google skills are not on top of it today.

Ahh, I miss the WC.

Is it the one where all the players' heads have been replaced by his? That was hilarious.

That one is a close second!

But it's the photo of a brick wall with rubbish bins in front of it, labelled 'Tim Howard ans the US MNT' or something along those lines. Rude but never fails to crack me up.

i know y'all expect me to post Iker stuff since we're talking about GKs here so I will oblige. ;)

let's start with something sweet. with Iniesta (and a possible David Silva cameo? lol)

and now on to serious bsns. apparently, iker is known as the grumpy capi because he has to put up with his dumb teammates and their dumb antics all the time (both club and NT). that takes a serious toll on someone (see: his receding hairline)
For a beginner's guide i encourage y'all to explore this wonderful blog: http://ikercasillashateshislife.tumblr.com/ ENJOY!

this is pretty much canon, as evident in this instagram exchange between him and Marcelo:
Image

sometimes, it becomes too much that he would have sudden outbursts.
Image Image
that was Santi Cazorla btw. Liliputian meaning little people. lol, sorry Santi. #topBantz

he is pretty adorable with kids tho! seeing as they're the only people who doesn't test his patience.
Image
Image

ummm... i don't even know what's happening here.
Image

So yeah, that is all (for now). Grumpy Capi thanks you for your time!

Will post & talk about Neuer whether the OP like it or not
Image
Image

And other keepers? Oliver Kahn. German keepers are the best and ya'll know it :p
Image

Dortmund fans used to throw him bananas. He ate them.
Image
Olli Kahn't be tamed:
Image
Image
Bleeding and still raging:
Image
Two greatness in one gif:
Image

Andreas Koepke- IMO he is one of the greatest German keepers ever. His goalkeeping style was much calmer, cold and calculating than Kahn and pretty much underrated. Haven't seen great vids about him yet but I'm glad that he's the German NT GK trainer now

You youngins/new footie fans probably never know about the greatness that is Peter Schmeichel. Iker got nothing on him.

Keepers that I love and I think were miles better than Iker: Van Der Sar,Jose Luis Chilavert,Rüştü Reçber, Buffon.
Chilavert also scores goals:

Rustu Recber:

RM fanzombies are probably seething at my post, but I really don't see what they see in Iker. Probably because I've lived longer and I've seen better?
From the WC, I will rate the Algerian keeper higher than Ochoa.

I really miss the old school GKs. They were usually the manliest of the team and very gutsy. I for one glad that Neuer is bringing the gutsy back.

Ah, bless you. I'll always have a great fondness for Olli Kahn. He was so delightfully over the top and capable of such extreme reactions like that scene with Heiko Herrlich, or poking his finger into Miro's nose. I really enjoy it when matches are shown on ZDF and he's a co-host, as he is so delightfully able to make fun of himself nowadays. In contrast, seeing Lehmann on RTL makes me want to throw things at my screen, as he's so sanctimonious, knows everything better than everyone else, and has no sense of humour whatsoever. Also he was mean about Thomas Hitzlsperger.

Here is Olli Kahn scoring a goal, pointing out in the interview later that he thought he was allowed to use his hands in the box.

Mehmet Scholl, asked what he is afraid of: "War and Oliver Kahn".

Olli Kahn routinely stole Bastian Schweinsteiger's towels in the dressing room when Basti was new with Bayern, but Basti was too shy to confront him when he finally connected the dots of him never having a towel and Kahn having an extra one for his shoes and gloves.

And I always liked Köpke too; it's nice to see him doing good work for the national team.

Someone I wish I could have seen play is Sepp Maier, a great example in the tradition of crazy German goalkeepers. He was/is a great prankster, and even more Bavarian than Thomas Müller. He was with the 1990 World Cup team as a goalkeeper's coach, and played pranks on people. This one here is played on the team physio, who always showed great enthusiasm running on the pitch when someone was injured. In retaliation for some other prank, people laced his snuff with pepper.

Hase - MyVideo

When Maier got Beckenbauer's aid in playing this prank, due to the item in question being an unfortunate euphemism, Beckenbauer initially thought that Maier wanted to be supplied with a prostitute.

I never liked Lehmann. I don't even rate him as one of the greats. He made a lot of blunders and often times sloppy. I was seething when klinsi finally picked him over Kahn back in 2006 D:

Ohh poor Basti..LOL. Sepp Maier was my mom's generation and she adores him so much. Crazy German GKs are the best.

I hope this can be viewed outside of Germany: Field players having to help out as keepers. The text is German, but the video is self-explanatory. Includes Jan Koller squeezed into Lehmann's shirt, Olli Kahn getting knocked out by a teammate, and field players actually keeping out penalties caused by the keepers they had to replace.
